Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using CleanTably ("Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using CleanTably, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, have the legal authority to enter into these Terms, and agree to comply with them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

CleanTably provides an AI-powered web tool that converts documents (PDFs, images, and scanned files) into structured, editable spreadsheet formats (Excel .xlsx). The Service uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to automatically extract and organize data from your documents.

The Service is available in multiple tiers:

Free tier: Convert documents at no cost, subject to rate limits and the data improvement terms described in Section 5.
Paid tiers: Higher limits, priority processing, and enhanced privacy guarantees. Details on our Pricing page.

Features, pricing, and availability may change as the Service evolves. We will provide reasonable notice for material changes.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not:

Upload files containing illegal, harmful, or infringing content.
Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or otherwise exploit the Service.
Use the Service to process files you do not own or have explicit authorization to process.
Circumvent rate limits or usage restrictions through automated tools, multiple accounts, or other means.
Interfere with the security or integrity of the Service or its infrastructure.

4. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, software, and design elements of CleanTably are our exclusive property and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You retain full ownership of any files you upload and the data extracted from them. We claim no ownership over your documents.

5. Data Handling and Privacy

Free tier: Documents you upload are processed using AI-powered extraction. To improve extraction accuracy for all users, a sample of anonymized structural metadata (document layouts, header patterns, table formats — not personal, financial, or sensitive content) from free-tier documents may be retained to improve how our system reads different document types. Original files are deleted within 48 hours of processing.

Paid tiers: Documents are processed and permanently deleted immediately after conversion is complete. No data is retained or used for any purpose beyond delivering your result.

By using the free tier, you acknowledge and agree that a sample of anonymized structural metadata from your documents may be retained to improve extraction accuracy. If you require that no data be used for improvement purposes, please use a paid tier.

6. AI-Powered Processing

CleanTably uses artificial intelligence to extract data from your documents. You acknowledge that:

Accuracy: AI extraction is not perfect. Results may contain errors, missed fields, or incorrect interpretations. Always review extracted data before using it for critical purposes.
Automated processing: Your documents are processed entirely by AI systems. No human reviews your documents during normal operation.
Continuous improvement: Our AI models are periodically updated to improve accuracy. This may result in different extraction results for the same document over time.

7. Rate Limits and Fair Use

To ensure service quality for all users, the free tier is subject to rate limits:

Maximum 10 document conversions per hour per user.
Maximum file size of 5 MB per document.
Supported formats: PDF, PNG, JPG.

Users who exceed these limits will receive a clear message indicating when they can resume. Systematic abuse of rate limits may result in temporary or permanent restriction of access.

8. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. CleanTably does not guarantee that:

The Service will be error-free or uninterrupted.
Conversion results will be perfectly accurate for every document type.
Extracted data will be suitable for any particular financial, legal, or regulatory purpose.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CleanTably shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of data, financial losses from inaccurate extractions, or business interruption.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top. For material changes, we will notify users via email if we have their address on file. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
